Children and youth featured in these photos are unique individuals sharing one common experience. They all have found themselves living in the foster care system after being removed from their families to protect them from abuse or neglect. Removal by child protection comes with an inherent promise - that society would restore them to homes where they would be cared for and loved. One shared thread, many hopes and dreams.
